The DC18RE will charge 18-Volt LXT and 12-Volt MAX CXT slide-style batteries and shares many of the same efficiency features of Makita's groundbreaking LXT charging system. The DC18RE has a built-in fan to cool the battery by forcing air through the battery's air vents during the charging process for faster charging. The charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature. In addition, the DC18RE is engineered to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature during charging. The result is category-leading charge times. For Makita 18-Volt LXT batteries, the DC18RE will charge a 2.0 Ah battery in only 25-minutes, a 3.0 Ah battery in only 30-minutes, a 4.0 Ah battery in only 40-minutes, a 5.0 Ah in only 45-minutes and a 6.0 Ah battery in only 55-minutes. For 12-Volt MAX CXT slide-style batteries, the DC18RE will charge a 2.0 Ah battery in only 30-minutes and a 4.0 Ah battery in only 60-minutes. The DC18RE is a sequential charger and will charge 1 battery at a time.
