Time-Lapse Tips and Tools

The Manfrotto MK190X3-3W1 Aluminum Tripod pairs the MT190X3 legs with the 804 MK II 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head. The tripod features a Quick Power Lock System, ground level adapter, and an Easy Link attachment. It can hold up to 8.8 lb of gear, and has a maximum height of 67.7". The ground level adapter replaces the center column to allow the ball head's plate to sit just 8.27" above the ground with the legs at their widest angle.

The QPL system allows the three leg sections to be completely extended with one hand for simple set up. An Easy Link adapter attachment allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets. Each leg has four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain.

The included 804 MK II 3-way pan/tilt head incorporates retractable handles to decrease the overall size when not in use. A built-in spring assists with the tilting motion of the head by compensating for heavier lenses and cameras with off-center loads. The head stands 4.7" high, weighs 1.65 lb, and can hold up to 8.8 lb. A 200LT-PL quick release plate is included for quickly attaching and removing your camera from the head.

This MH804 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head from Manfrotto has a load capacity of 8.8 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. It includes an integrated RC2 quick release cam lock and a 200LT-PL Quick Release Plate. RC2 compatible quick release plates such as the 200LT-PL can be removed from the head by pulling the cam lock's spring-loaded lever, which also allows the plate to be quickly reattached. The cam lock also features a safety catch to prevent the 200LT-PL, or another compatible quick release plate from accidentally disconnecting.

Cameras, sport optics, or camcorders that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the quick release plate before securing it to the pan-and-tilt head. The head can be rotated 360°, tilted 90° forwards or 30° backwards, as well as 90° sideways for portrait orientation. Each of these three movements function independently of each other, have dedicated control handles, and can be locked into place. In addition to integrating the ability to individually lock the movements by twisting each corresponding handle's rubberized grip, the telescoping control handles for both tilt functions can also be retracted while the head is not in use for more convenient storage or transport.

To promote fast, repeatable, and accurate device positioning, this MH804 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head also includes dedicated angle scales for each movement that are designed for easy visibility. For heavier loads, built-in counterbalance springs help ensure smooth as well as gradual backwards and forwards tilt movements.

The Manfrotto MT190X3 Aluminum Tripod is an addition to the popular 190 series, adding a Quick Power Lock System, ground level adapter, and an Easy Link attachment. It can hold up to 15.4 lb of gear, and has a maximum height of 63". The ground-level adapter replaces the center column to allow the tripod's mounting plate to sit just 3.5" above the ground with the legs at their widest angle.

The QPL system allows the three leg sections to be completely extended with one hand for simple set up. An Easy Link adapter attachment allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets. Each leg can be set at four different angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain.
