For wider optics, a pull-out diffuser panel can expand the coverage to 12mm. The head also boasts the ability to tilt upwards 90° and rotate right 120° and left 180°. Additionally, this model can be used as a remote TTL slave with compatible system flashes.
When working with a compatible camera, the 44 AF-2 can be set to first or second curtain sync in order to more appropriately utilize your flash in certain situations. It also runs on four AA batteries which can provide a recycle time of 0.1-4 seconds.
